DESCRIPTION:Watch the recording\n\nHERE\n\n\nBetween May 5 and 9\, Independent Theater Hungary organized the 8th Roma Heroes International Theater Festival in Budapest. At the festival\, British\, Italian\, Romanian\, and Hungarian Roma artists demonstrated through stand-up performances\, satirical monodramas\, live arts\, music\, and Q&A sessions how humor can become a weapon that liberates theater from the captivity of drama and victimhood.   \nThe festival’s stand-up shows and monodramas will also be available online on the HowlRound platform from September 14 to 19.  \n\n\nA The winning project of the Stand Up Roma contest organized by Trafó and Independent Theater Hungary. \nA performance that lies somewhere between stand-up comedy and monodrama\, in which an actor uses his own stories to show how stage characters are constructed. The scenes are both playful and thought-provoking\, shedding light on how we see each other and what we project onto others.  \nDon’t you think it’s funny when they call you a gypsy in the morning and a skinhead in the evening?
