SUMMARY:Csaba Gerner & Edina Tallér: Rosszarc - The winning project of the Stand Up Roma call for proposals\, launched in collaboration with Trafó and the Independent Theatre Hungary.
DESCRIPTION:Tickets\n  \nThe winning project of the Stand Up Roma call for proposals\, launched in collaboration with Trafó and the Independent Theatre Hungary. \nA performance that straddles the line between stand-up and monodrama: an actor gives his audience acting lessons on how to build a character through stories drawn from his life. The “lessons” are both playful and confronting. They show how we look at each other and what we see in others. \nThe protagonist of the monodrama does not fit into any social “box”: he faces ethnic prejudice because of his skin color\, political labels because of his baldness\, and distancing because of his physique. His appearance has always determined who he is all his life\, even before he can speak. Now on stage\, he takes back control of the narrative and tells us what we are like. \nThe new play by playwright Edina Tallér and actor Csaba Gerner examines how everyday\, yet systematically repeated\, micro-discriminations shape a person’s life – from shoplifting and “routine checks” to medical examinations and rejections at work. \nRosszarc is a fiction\, theater play\, and human mirror based on personal experiences: it explores the possibility of whether we are able to distinguish prejudice from experience\, whether we have the ability to connect to the community\, and to approach each other and thus ourselves without prejudice. \nPhoto: Máté Kalicz / Trafó

SUMMARY:Actor Kristóf Horváth Bob: Gypsy Solitude - The winning project of the Stand Up Roma call for proposals\, launched in collaboration with Trafó and Independent Theatre Hungary.
DESCRIPTION:Tickets \n  \nThe winning project of the Stand Up Roma call for proposals\, launched in collaboration with Trafó and the Independent Theatre Hungary. \n  \nKristóf Horváth\, known to many as “Actor Bob\,” explores the social and personal aspects of shame in his stand-up performance. It is both entertaining and deeply confrontational: using humor and irony\, he calls out typical situations that reveal the insecurities and fears behind social prejudices. A “Gypsy Window-Giraffe”—an easily understandable dictionary for coexistence\, where the Roma perspective is not the goal\, but a tool for a shared journey of self-discovery.

SUMMARY:Rudolf Forgács: Gypsy\, but cool - The winning project of the Stand Up Roma call for proposals\, launched in collaboration with Trafó and the Independent Theatre Hungary.
DESCRIPTION:Tickets\nThe winning project of the Stand Up Roma call for proposals\, launched in collaboration with Trafó and the Independent Theatre Hungary. \n“Rudi doesn’t steal. Dani isn’t a terrorist. These are shocking facts\, since Rudi is half-gypsy and Dani is half-Arab.” \nRudolf Forgács is a young half-Roma\, half-Székely comedian from Transylvania who recently graduated from the Cluj-Napoca Academy of Music. He is joined by Dániel Said\, a half-Hungarian\, half-Syrian comedian\, a recurring performer at Showder Klub and Dumaszínház\, who has lived his entire life in the 8th district. \n“So Rudi is a musical gypsy\, and Dani has the Musical Gypsy Park nearby.” \nMaybe that’s why Rudi and Dani like each other. Or maybe it’s because they both want to believe they’re “normal” – whatever that means. (Probably because they don’t steal and they’re not terrorists.) \nEveryone has heard—and perhaps even said—about someone that “he’s Gypsy\, but cool!” Rudi has heard it too. About himself. These three words\, meant as a compliment\, hold surprisingly deep implications on both a personal and social level. What impact do these three words have? What does it take to overcome our prejudices\, and can we ever fully overcome them? \nThe two comedians and the audience can feel the boundaries together: what can be made into a joke and what can’t. And all this for whom? At the end of the performance\, everyone can decide for themselves what they think about the gypsy they saw on the Trafó stage\, and whether this changes their opinion of those they haven’t even met yet.” (Rudolf Forgács) \nPhoto: Máté Kalicz / Trafó

SUMMARY:8th Roma Heroes – International Theater Festival Giuvlipen Theater Company: Get Up\, Roma!
DESCRIPTION:Tickets\n  \nIn the Romanian Giuvlipen’s performance\, humor becomes a tool of resistance and a platform for self-expression\, cultural pride\, and political commentary. It is a celebration of the diversity of identities\, questioning the ruling order\, and a call to rethink who gets to tell the joke and who has been the target of jokes for too long. This kind of humor is not for the weak. The experienced audience knows that this Romanian group has never been known for being subtle or compromising. Why would their stand-up night be any different? The jokes hit hard\, they offend\, but they also liberate\, while helping you rise above. Come and experience it with us! \n  \nCast: Zita Moldovan\, Anastasia Dade\, Răzvan Rotaru\, Mihaela Drăgan \nRuntime: 100 mins (no intermission)

SUMMARY:8th Roma Heroes – International Theater Festival - 8th Roma Heroes – International Theater Festival
DESCRIPTION:Tickets\n\n The winning project of the Stand Up Roma contest organized by Trafó and Independent Theater Hungary. \n  \nA performance that lies somewhere between stand-up comedy and monodrama\, in which an actor uses his own stories to show how stage characters are constructed. The scenes are both playful and thought-provoking\, shedding light on how we see each other and what we project onto others. \n  \nDon’t you think it’s funny when they call you a gypsy in the morning and a skinhead in the evening? \n

SUMMARY:8th Roma Heroes – International Theater Festival - Giuvlipen Theater Company (Romania) – Mihaela & Nico Rap Concert // Freestyle Arena – where rap meets the “here and now”
DESCRIPTION:Tickets\nPerformers\n\n\n\n\nMihaela & Nico Rap: Nicoleta Ghiță\, Mihaela Drăgan \nFreestyle Aréna – where rap meets the “here and now”: Lakatos Lucia\, Merina C Abigail\, Kálódzséró\, Hassza\, Beatbull \n\n\n\n\nAbout\n\n\n\n\n  \nMihaela & Nico Rap: \nThe concert weaves together the personal and the political\, reflecting on the lived experiences of contemporary Roma women. The songs function both as a mirror and a lighthouse: they shed light on the realities of patriarchal violence\, capitalism\, and racism that shape everyday life\, while also offering visionary narratives of resistance and liberation. \nFreestyle Arena – where rap meets the “here and now” \nThis is a live event. It’s not a concert. Five MCs take the stage to show you what it’s brilliant like when rap is born right in front of your eyes\, not scripted in advance. \nNo script\, no safety net. The audience provides the topic—we react instantly. \nWe throw lines at each other\, build off each other\, and carry each other forward. The flow goes round and round\, the energy builds\, and each round takes us in a different direction. What’s said here is unique and unrepeatable. Raw energy\, humor\, jabs\, thoughts\, intellect—everything is welcome. Rap returns to where it came from: to the people. \nIf you’ve got a word\, a topic\, or just a feeling — throw it in. We’ll show you what freestyle can do with it.
