Between May 5 and 9, Independent Theater Hungary organized the 8th Roma Heroes International Theater Festival in Budapest. At the festival, British, Italian, Romanian, and Hungarian Roma artists demonstrated through stand-up performances, satirical monodramas, live arts, music, and Q&A sessions how humor can become a weapon that liberates theater from the captivity of drama and victimhood. <\/div>\n
The festival\u2019s stand-up shows and monodramas will also be available online on the HowlRound platform from September 14 to 19. <\/div>\n

A <\/strong>The winning project of the Stand Up Roma contest organized by Traf\u00f3<\/a> and Independent Theater Hungary.<\/p>\n

A performance that lies somewhere between stand-up comedy and monodrama, in which an actor uses his own stories to show how stage characters are constructed. The scenes are both playful and thought-provoking, shedding light on how we see each other and what we project onto others. <\/p>\n
