As part of the Theater in One Car project, our performance The Best Village was created. As our devoted followers may already know, it’s not only the artists of Independent Theatre Hungary who have produced outstanding performances, but also the Basca Theatre from Romania and the Mikser Theatre from Serbia, who have created their own productions.

Supported by the European Union, the project aims to create sustainable, eco-friendly, and cost-effective theatre performances in which two actors play multiple roles — and the entire production fits into a single car.

Now, we have a special opportunity: the Mikser Theatre’s production SEEKING HOME is coming to Budapest, at Eötvös10 (1067 Budapest, Eötvös utca 10) on November 30.

Where do we belong? What is home? These questions — which concern us all — are at the heart of this performance, inspired by Jelena Vladušić’s doctoral dissertation. Through photographs, the play tells the stories of the people — women, men, and children — who left the Balkans throughout history in search of a new life. Actresses Andrijana Dragnić and Jana Dekanski take on multiple roles in a space that transforms before the audience’s eyes.
