During this 4-hour workshop, participants will be introduced to Augusto Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed and Forum Theatre, a method that explores social issues, injustice, and human rights through theatre.
In Forum Theatre, the audience is not merely a spectator. Participants can step onto the stage, interrupt scenes, and try out different solutions by taking on the roles of the oppressor, the oppressed, or a bystander.
Ana Ursu, co-founder of Basca Theatre in Timișoara, will use practical exercises and collective reflection to explore how theatre can become a tool for social dialogue, community learning, and challenging deeply rooted social patterns.
