Call for Theater Artists!

Take part in a unique 5-day workshop in Budapest and become part of the creation of a new, environmentally conscious and socially engaged theater performance!
Our goal is to support the creation of sustainable, mobile, low-budget but high-impact productions.
We are looking for performances featuring two actors, designed to tour by car, that tell authentic rural stories.


Who are we looking for?

  • Actors, directors, dramaturgs, and set/costume designers
  • Residents of the European Union or Serbia

  • Individuals interested in social and ecological topics
  • Open-minded professionals willing to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Artists applying individually or in 2–3-person creative teams

About the Workshop

  • Dates: January 23–27, 2025
  • Location: Budapest
  • Language: English
  • Costs: All expenses (travel, accommodation, meals) covered by the organizers
  • The workshop will cover:
    • How to perform multiple characters as one actor

    • How to avoid stereotypes in socially conscious art

    • How to design sustainable, portable sets, costumes, and props

How to Apply

  • Deadline: November 30, 2024, 5:00 PM (CET)
  • Apply as: Individual or as part of a 2–3 member creative group
  • For directors and dramaturgs, the following are required:
    • A description of the proposed topic
    • The planned creative team
    • The planned creative team

What Happens After the Workshop?

  • You will have the opportunity to develop your own performance
  • Deadline to submit a detailed project plan: 2025. February 28, 2025
  • Selected projects may receive up to €10,000 in funding
  • Funding decisions will be announced by mid-March 2025
  • Premieres must take place by the end of July 2025
  • Each performance must be presented in at least two rural communities by Fall 2025
